dylans.blog.http://www.theatticyouth.com/dylansblog/en-US2008-05-17T05:27:50ZSquarespace Site Server v4.1.2 (http://www.squarespace.com/)Taking New Orleans By Stormhttp://www.theatticyouth.com/dylansblog/2008/5/6/taking-new-orleans-by-storm.htmldylan glastetter2008-05-06T00:31:56ZI heard a sweet story today at work.  It was a true story about Billy Graham and his recent march into Bourbon Street in New Orleans.  So he was giving prolly his last crusade down in New Orleans and at the end of his message he decided to do something different.  He invited the 16,000 in attendance to follow him on a 1 mile hike from the convention center to Bourbon St.  For those who don't know, Bourbon St is where all the bars are and where most of the night life happens in NO.  So almost everyone responded to his call and followed him into the city, into the bars, into the streets, suddenly into the lives of a lot of people who were not planning on encountering God that night.  They talked to people, shared with people, and prayed for people.  A lot of people were brought to Jesus that night.  Amazing story. 

 

Now imagine you are at your school.  And you want to reach your friends for God.  And there may not be 16,000, but maybe there is 160 or even 16.  What difference could just 16 students in your school make if they decided to really reach their school for God.  Just 16 kids.  Black or white, baptist or catholic, freshman or senior.  Can you imagine the change?  Can you imagine the difference just 16 could make in your school?  What if there were 32 students?  What if there was just one student? 

 

Will you be that student?

     1. Learn from your failure.

     2. Get up from your failure.

     3. And don't give up until you succeed.

You can only fail when give up and stop trying.  Hey guys keep living for God.  And no matter, remember that God will always be there.

]]>prioritizing your prioritieshttp://www.theatticyouth.com/dylansblog/2008/4/14/prioritizing-your-priorities.htmldylan glastetter2008-04-14T23:12:59ZSo today I made a decision.  I decided to step down from the worship team at church.  Before I get too far, let me say this ... I loved being on the worship team.  I loved being able to help people enter into worship on a weekly basis.  I loved being able to use a newly discovered gift to please the Lord.  Plus I just loved playing bass.  (even if I wasn't that good yet)  So why did I step down you may ask?  Very simple.  Priorities.  You see I have a lot of stuff that I do in my life.  But I also have a lot of stuff that I am not doing in my life.  So when I sat down to make a list of things I am currently doing, and a list of things I need to be doing; I realized that I had been making some mistakes.  I had been doing some things thjat were fun and good, but neglecting some things that were maybe not so fun but extremely important.  So I stepped down.

Personally, I think there is a lot of people out there that are in this same predicament.  Maybe you are neglecting some things that you need to be doing.  Maybe, like me, you are doing some good things in your life, but are you doing the best things for your life?  I thnk more often than not we settle for the good instead of waiting for God's best.  Take a look at your life.  Are your priorities in order?  Are you doing the things that are the best for your life?  Or are you settling for only the good things?

Hey I know its hard, trust me I just had to do this, but really examine your life.  Are living the life God wants, or the life you want?

]]>Starting a journal.http://www.theatticyouth.com/dylansblog/2008/4/12/starting-a-journal.htmldylan glastetter2008-04-12T23:04:56ZHey guys I have made a decision to start something new in my personal quiet time.  I am going to start journaling.  Now since I ma putting it on the website, I guess that that makes it a blog.  But I will not be posting everything I journal.  Some stuff i want to keep personal, and some stuff YOU just don't need to know about.  So there.  Anyway, I will posting on here throughout the day or week or whenever I get the time.  I will be allowing comments, so tell me what you think.  Do you agree or disagree, have you ever dealt with the same problems I am dealing with?  So anyway heres to our new journey together.  I encourage you to also start journaling during your quiet time.  Sometimes getting your thoughts on paper can really help you get through some stuff.
